Founded by QKL’s Jordan Chan, the first-ever Kent Pride Games brought Prides from across the county together at the Julie Rose Stadium in Ashford on Saturday 27 June 2026, from 12pm to 9pm.
5 Pride groups took part, with teams from Sheppey, Herne Bay, Ramsgate, Broadstairs, and Medway with Invicta Charlton Football Club being the Wild Card, among those competing in sports day activities for the Rainbow Cup and a £250 prize for their Pride organisation – with Dame Kelly Holmes opening the games and joining in with the pre game celebrations, which included a brilliant speech, alongside Jordan Chan, and Ashfords Deputy Mayoress Heather.
And because this is our community, it was never just a sports day: six drag acts, a Charli XCX tribute, a DJ, stalls and a parade around the track kept the queer joy flowing all day at the completely free event! More than 200 spectators came along to enjoy and support the Pride Games.
The Games were created to show that when sport is safe, inclusive and welcoming, LGBTQ+ people turn up and thrive. Run in partnership with the Julie Rose Stadium.
